Got my alarm fixed.

I got my alarm fixed on thursday out at NFM. It turns out the proximity sensor was causing them problem so they made it a little less sensitive.

Filled up - 4/16

Got gas at the Hy-Vee Gas in Prairie Village, paid $208.9 a gallon with the discount, put in 10.5 gallons at the 304 mile mark on the car. That gives me mileage of 28.9 to the gallon, not to bad considering part of that is in town.

Cheap way to track interior temperature

Now that I got my windows tinted, and after reading up about how much light and heat they block out, I got curious about the interior temperature of my car. I could spring for a fancy thermometer but I was in Cargo Largo the other day and saw a Taylor dial food thermometer for $2 (Taylor makes good food equipment) so I bought it and tucked in above the visor on the passenger side. I was surprised to see that it read 135 degrees friday when I went to work (but it was sunny, I had left the sunroof sunshade open, and the car was facing the east).

But for $2 I know now the temp inside, not a bad way to spend a couple of bucks.

Bought my scion at Roger Smith Toyota in KCK.

I bought my Scion TC at Roger Smith Toyota in KCK. I went there because two other dealers closer to either work or home did not even have one to test drive. When I went to Roger Smith Toyota, they had 3 of them, including one with an automatic and the side airbags, first time I had found that cominations. The color is Flint Mica, not what I originally wanted until I saw that car in the sun, and damn does that color look nice. It does show the dirt more than I would like but I guess I can live with that.

So far I love the car and Roger Smith has taken good care of me as well.

I got my windows tinted

I got my windows tinted on Thursday (4-14) at Midwest Tinting in Independence, they used Diamond Marquis film, and it looks really sharp. Hopefully it helps keep the car cooler in the summertime. They used 32% front and 14% rear and back windows. I went with the smoke colored (I guess that is what you call it, normal dark color- not the silver colored stuff. I will post pics at some point here. It cost me $240 total (with a discount from the yellow pages). It would have been about $80 less if I went with the regular tint, but the Marquis is warranted not only against the film coming off, but also losing its color.
